Terms of Service

Agreement

These terms are between you and Ipsofax (“we”, “us”), operating Ipsofax.com. By creating an account or using the APIs you agree to them. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm you can bind it.

Accounts and keys

Keep your API keys secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Keys may be rotated or revoked at any time from the console; treat browser keys as public and give them an allowed-domain list.

Acceptable use

  • Do not scrape, bulk-download or resell the address datasets, or operate a paid proxy of the API without written permission.
  • Do not load-test production endpoints without our agreement.
  • Autocomplete endpoints are for human-driven input; automated polling is not permitted.
  • In line with the Open G-NAF Core EULA, do not use address data from the service to generate or compile addresses for sending mail unless each address is verified as mailable using a source other than G-NAF.

Credits and billing

Paid lookups are prepaid credits. Unused credits remain available for the period stated when purchased. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store card details. Prices are shown before purchase and may change for future purchases with notice. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot be excluded by law.

Data and cross-border processing

Address master data is served from Australia; account and billing data is stored in the United Kingdom. Where your data is transferred across regions, we use contractual and technical safeguards. See the Privacy Policy for what we collect, where it lives and how to exercise your rights.

Attribution

Results incorporate G-NAF Core © Geoscape Australia, licensed under the Open G-NAF Core EULA, and NZ Addresses © Toitū Te Whenua LINZ, CC BY 4.0. You must display the applicable attribution where you present results, and comply with the underlying dataset licences. See Data licences & attribution for the exact wording.

Availability and liability

We aim for high availability but provide the service “as is”. Address data is provided without a warranty of accuracy or completeness by us, Geoscape Australia, LINZ or the contributing governments. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law, the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act, or equivalent UK law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in Australia or New Zealand, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.

Changes

We may update these terms; we will post the new version on this page and, for material changes, give reasonable notice before they take effect. Questions: support@ipsofax.com.
